Meteorological data processor for AERMOD-Australasian software equivalent to US AERMET
pDsAUSMET is your local meteorological data processor which was developed based on EPA, Victoria’s guidelines “Construction of input meteorological data files for AERMOD.”
With pDsAUSMET you can input data in several local formats based on the data availability. As outlined in the EPA, VIC’s guidelines you have to provide

(3). Upper Air
data to construct AERMOD type metfiles.

AERMOD-Technical Training :Two Day computer lab. This two day technical training course helps you transit smoothly from AUSPLUME to AERMOD.
Working one per computer, you use pDsAUSMOD modeling suite which is capable of running both AERMOD and AUSPLUME as well as pDsAUSMET-Australian met processor for AERMOD.
Carefully designed modelling exercises/case studies help you gain practical experience in processing local meteorological data,surface characteristics and topography, various source inputs to the model, running and analysing model output, and postprocessing
results to visualise and document predicted impacts.
This course is ideally suited to air modellers who have dispersion modeling experience using AUSPLUME but not limited to them, new users are also welcome.

Input meteorological data files for AERMOD (American Met. Soc. and US EPA regulatory model). AERMOD became EPA,Victoria’s regulatory air model from 1 Jan 2014.
AERMOD requires two type of input files: Surface Data File (.SFC file) and Vertical Profile Data File (.PFL file)
Site-specific data as on-site data with the following parameters(Mandatory):
Wind Direction and Speed
Screen level Temperature
Nearest representative BoM weather station data as off-site data with the following parameters (Supplementary):
Precipitation Rate (optional)
Vertical Temperature profiles from representative BoM upper air stations in the region(Upper air)
- Twice daily Temperature and Moisture profiles
We strictly use the latest US EPA and EPA Victoria recommended algorithms to calculate required micro meteorological parameters and mixing heights (convective (PBL), mechanical (SBL)). We supply error free, 100% AERMOD compatible standard files for your modelling work. With locations where there are no observed data, we source data from prognostic models like TAPM/MM5/WRF.
Note that we do not supply intermediate files that can be inputted into other third party software (non-standard).
